HAMDEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TransAct Technologies Incorporated (Nasdaq: TACT), a global leader in market-specific solutions, including printers, terminals, software and other products for transaction-based and other industries, announced today the Company's participation at the 2013 Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center (Booth #325) in Los Angeles, CA, on August 18-20, 2013. Headlining the Company's products on display will be its innovative new food safety terminal, the Ithaca® 9700, as well as its Ithaca point of sale printers and full line of supplies and services offered by TransAct Services.

The Ithaca 9700 food safety terminal is an innovative new product for restaurant and food service operators that saves time, cuts food waste, reduces labor costs and reduces the risk of food spoilage. With a large, easy-to-read 8.4-inch color touch screen display, the Ithaca 9700 quickly prints easy-to-read expiration and "enjoy by" date labels, making food spoilage much more manageable. In addition, the PC-based terminal allows operators to quickly change their menu items, print accurate calorie counts on food items and generate accurate "prep" and "grab-and-go" labels via an internal real-time clock. Available in 1- or 2-printer configurations, the 9700 offers simple drop-in label loading and can handle a variety of label widths and lengths.

Sales of the Ithaca 9700 are beginning to gain traction as quick service and casual restaurants increasingly understand the efficiency and operational benefits TransAct's easy-to-use solution brings to their business. The Ithaca 9700 is uniquely positioned to help all foodservice providers better comply with federal, state and local regulations by more fully automating their contamination prevention processes while improving the overall quality of their product offerings.

In addition to the Ithaca 9700 terminal, TransAct will also feature several other Ithaca terminals at the 2013 Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo, including:

  • Ithaca 9000 — The Ithaca 9000 is a highly versatile, multi-function solution that allows foodservice vendors to print receipts, sticky grill labels and sticky custom beverage labels from one printer. Featuring the industry's fastest print speed at 12 inches per second, the Ithaca 9000 accommodates plain or sticky thermal paper of three different sizes and can automatically sense the paper size loaded and reconfigure itself accordingly.
  • Ithaca 8040 — The Ithaca 8040 allows vendors to easily print drink and order labels, as well as receipts, on-demand at speeds of up to 6 inches per second. This easy-to-use printer features simple drop-in loading of 40mm-wide thermal liner-less label and receipt paper.
  • Ithaca 8000 — The Ithaca 8000 is a two-in-one solution that prints crisp liner-less labels or standard thermal receipts out of the same terminal. Well-suited for use with food items in retail or hospitality environments, the printer can accommodate extra-large drop-in paper rolls and prints at speeds of up to 6 inches per second. With a conveniently small footprint, the Ithaca 8000 can also print promotions with bold graphics.

Also on display at Booth #325 at the Los Angeles Convention Center will be a wide range of consumables — including paper stock and ink cartridges — offered by TransAct Services Group. Providing foodservice vendors with a one-stop shop for all their printing needs, TransAct Services Group's website (www.transactsupplies.com) and phone representatives make it easy for operators to order supplies they know will arrive on time, every time.
