TRANSACT TECHNOLOGIES ISSUES UPDATE ON LAWSUIT AGAINST FUTURELOGIC

August 7, 2007
HAMDEN, CT, August 7, 2007 -TransAct Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ: TACT) announced that late last night it received positive developments in the ongoing patent infringement case against FutureLogic in the United States District Court, Central District of California. In connection with our request for a preliminary injunction, the judge ruled that FutureLogic's construction of its prototype GEN2 Universal printer with the ProMatrix system has a likelihood of infringing TransAct's U.S. Patent 6,924,903 (the "903 Patent") covering dual port technology.

While the judge did not grant TransAct's request for a preliminary injunction at this stage of the case, the court ruled that "Should TransAct discover that FutureLogic has sold or offered to sell any GEN2 Universal printers with the ProMatrix system that infringe the 903 Patent during the course of this action, it may renew this motion on an expedited ex parte basis and - assuming it shows the requisite likelihood of success on the merits - the court will afford it the relief it seeks."

Bart C. Shuldman, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of TransAct Technologies, said, "This is a very positive development for TransAct, which we believe validates the merits of our lawsuit against FutureLogic. TransAct has established itself as an industry leader in part due to our track record of investing in and successfully bringing new, innovative technologies to the market. We will continue to take all appropriate actions to protect our patented intellectual property."
