TransAct Technologies Approves Stock Repurchase Program

Wallingford, CT, March 29, 2005 - TransAct Technologies Incorporated (Nasdaq: TACT), a leading producer of transaction-based printers for customers worldwide, today announced that its Board of Directors has approved a stock repurchase program, effective immediately. TransAct is now authorized to repurchase up to $10 million of its outstanding shares of common stock from time to time on the open market over the next 3 years, depending on market conditions, share price and other factors.

As of December 31, 2004, TransAct had approximately 10,231 million shares outstanding on a fully diluted basis.
